Residential Obedience Training

The need for residential training has become more evident over the past few years as dog owner's busy life styles mean they have less time to devote to teaching their family pet how to behave in an acceptable manner in today's society - the time and energy it takes to undertake proper dog training procedures is more than most people can spare. At Alpha Dog Centre our expertise and experience in dog training will enable dog owners to control their dog, manage their behaviour and enjoy their companions to the fullest.

The features of the Residential Obedience Training Programme are to accommodate the dog at the Centre during which time they learn basic obedience through the use of reinforcement methods that are later taught to the owner. Other benefits include socialisation in a safe, controlled environment and being worked professionally with natural distractions. Information obtained through a questionnaire and discussion with the owner enable us to address both the dog's obedience and behaviour management in the home environment. The owner is kept up-to-date on their dog's progress by regular telephone reports. At the end of the course the owner is taught the exact skills their dog has learnt in a hands-on instruction session with their dog's trainer, and presented with a full report and training notes.

• Directional turns whilst walking to heel
• Recall/recall to heel
• Controlled play
• Controlled greeting
• Gate/door control

Free Aftercare is offered in the form of information and advice, a follow-up session at the Centre, and telephone support. 

This course, including boarding, training, reports and tuition is Priced at - 630 Euros

Course duration - 21 days 

A deposit of 300 Euros is required at course commencement, the balance payable on collection of your dog.

Obedience Training Course

This course is designed for dog owners who have both the time and the dedication to undertake the bulk of their dog's training themselves.

The course is one-to-one weekly classes with Paul (the Training Instructor), who will guide the owner through the training procedures with their dog. Owner and dog practise at home on a daily basis what they have learned in class. 

We recommend that you only attend this training option if you are certain you have the time required for optimum results - at least an hour a day - and you have the support of anyone else who lives with you and your dog.

Course duration - 5 weeks

Price - 250 Euros

NEW!1/2 Day Workshop

This is designed for dog owners who need professional help with behavioural/ obedience issues and want to start the ball rolling as soon as possible.

Our Trainer , Paul, can visit you at your home (recommended especially for behavioural problems), or alternatively you and your dog can visit our dog centre near Cadiz.

The 1/2 day workshop is normally completed in 3 to 4 hours, and you can expect to see positive changes in your dog's behaviour from the outset. Paul may recommend a second workshop for dogs with persitent behavioural issues.

Priced at 150 Euros (price does not include travel expenses)

Home Visits

It helps to have good advice and guidance from a professional to address a specific behavioural issue which your dog is displaying. Our trainer has over 17 years of experience, and will share his expertise with you in the comfort of your home. Most unwanted behaviour in a dog can be re-shaped in between 1 and 3 visits, and free follow-up telephone and e-mail support will ensure that the unwanted behaviour does not reappear.
